Ikat Vest – Rainbow Cascade, reversible, one of a kind

219,00

Handmade ikat vest Rainbow Cascade – reversible, one-of-a-kind adras pattern. Multicolor and black-white sides. Size M. Ships across the EU.

The exterior is a vivid multicolor ikat in vertical, paint-like stripes – red, pink, green, yellow and blue on a black ground. Turn it around to reveal a calmer black-and-white side with a bold, graphic wave-and-teardrop pattern.

What is an ikat vest by ANORA?

The ikat vest by ANORA is a sleeveless piece inspired by the traditional Tajik outerwear cut – simplified into a form that’s easy to wear day-to-day in Europe, without giving up the authentic ikat pattern. It’s a lighter, year-round alternative to the joma: the same fabric character, less material, more styling freedom. It works layered under a coat on cooler days, and just as well on its own as a bold statement piece in summer.

Craft and material

Every ikat vest in the ANORA collection is hand-sewn – no production line, no rush, so no two pieces are identical. The base fabric is adras – a traditional ikat weave combining silk and cotton, characteristic of Central Asian craftsmanship. The ikat pattern is created by dyeing the threads before weaving, giving it the typical, slightly “blurred” contours – a natural feature of the technique, not a flaw. This dyeing method means every metre of fabric lands slightly differently, which is exactly what makes the finished vest one of a kind.

Reversible cut – two vests in one

This vest is reversible: it has two distinct, fully finished sides that can be worn facing out interchangeably. Buying one piece gets you two looks in practice – no need to buy two separate vests for different occasions. That makes it a practical addition to a capsule wardrobe, and a space-saver when you are packing light for a trip.

How to wear the vest?

The ikat vest works as a light layer over a shirt or sweater for most of the year, and just as well as a bold accent thrown over a simple, single-color outfit. The two pattern sides let you match the intensity of the accent to the occasion – calmer for daytime, bolder for evening. The raspberry-pink side pairs well with jeans and a plain t-shirt, while the stained-glass multicolor side lifts a muted, single-color office or evening outfit.

Size and fit

This vest has a more fitted, feminine cut (not oversized) in size M. (Exact measurements to be confirmed against the specific piece.)

Care

We recommend hand washing in cool water (up to 30°C) with a mild detergent, without wringing – press out excess water by hand and dry flat, away from sunlight and radiators. Iron from the inside, on a low setting, ideally through a cotton cloth, to protect the dyed ikat pattern. Alternatively: dry cleaning. Avoid prolonged soaking and tumble drying. (To be confirmed against the specific piece’s care label.)
