Ikat scarf by ANORA is a hand-finished scarf in atlas (silk ikat) – each available Pattern/Color option is a different, one-of-a-kind piece. Choose whichever option suits you best from the list of available patterns.

What is an ikat scarf by ANORA?

It’s a lightweight accessory in atlas – a silk fabric with an authentic ikat pattern, characteristic of Central Asian craftsmanship. The 200×45 cm format works equally well as a light accent over the shoulders or a practical layer on cooler days.

Craft and material

Every scarf in the ANORA collection is hand-finished – no production line, no rush, so no two pieces are identical. The base fabric is atlas – a traditional silk ikat weave characteristic of Central Asian craftsmanship. The ikat pattern is created by dyeing the threads before weaving, giving it the typical, slightly blurred contours – a natural feature of the technique, not a flaw. The lightweight atlas weave also means it packs down small, so it is easy to bring along as a spare layer without adding bulk to your bag.

Where does this pattern come from?

Ikat patterns have a centuries-old tradition in Central Asia, where they have accompanied everyday and festive dress for generations, passed down within craft families. ANORA draws on this heritage, translating characteristic geometric motifs onto lightweight atlas, in a form that’s comfortable for everyday European wear – without losing the pattern’s authentic character.

How to wear an ikat scarf?

An ikat scarf works in several ways: draped loosely over the shoulders as a light accent to a simple outfit, tied around the neck or waist over a coat or jacket for a bold accent, or layered over an ANORA joma or ikat vest for a cohesive, layered look. You can also fold it narrow and wear it as an accent on a bag or belt, or throw it over your shoulders in the evening as the temperature drops. It also travels well: it folds flat, resists creasing, and works as a light layer whether you are exploring a new city or dressing up an evening outfit.

Why choose an ANORA ikat scarf?

Unlike mass production, every piece is finished individually and by hand, which means natural variation in the pattern placement between pieces. Buying one scarf gets you a piece you won’t find anywhere else – and choosing between the available Pattern/Color variants lets you match the color story to your own wardrobe.

Size

The scarf measures 200×45 cm – one universal format across the whole line.

Care

We recommend hand washing in cool water (up to 30°C) with a mild detergent, without wringing – press out excess water by hand and dry flat, away from sunlight and radiators. Iron from the inside, on a low setting, ideally through a cotton cloth, to protect the dyed ikat pattern. Alternatively: dry cleaning. Avoid prolonged soaking and tumble drying.
